Best spots for a birthday photoshoot in Dubai?
Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Dubai next month for my 30th birthday, and I really want to do a proper photoshoot to mark the occasion. I’ve seen the usual spots like the Burj Khalifa and the Wings of Mexico, but I’m looking for something a bit more "authentic" or maybe some hidden gems with cool architecture.
Also, has anyone here hired a local pro recently? I’m a bit nervous about booking someone through Instagram without seeing a solid portfolio first. Would love some tips on locations or how you handled the booking process!

Honestly, for locations, don’t sleep on Al Seef. It has that old-world vibe that contrasts so well with the modern skyline. I was there a few months ago and the lighting around sunset is just incredible.
Regarding the photographer, I totally get the hesitation. I actually went through a few portfolios before I found a photographer in Dubai who didn't just do the standard "tourist" shots. They seemed more like a creative collective than just a guy with a camera, which I liked. We ended up doing some shots in the desert at dawn, and it was much more relaxed than I expected. My advice: definitely chat with them beforehand to see if their style matches your vision, because some people here go way too heavy on the editing!
